Protobresvyter Fr. Emmanuel Vasladelis passed away peacefully yesterday 12 November
His Eminence Archbishop Sergios held a “Trisagion” at the Metropolitan Church of Saints Raphael Nicholas and Irene yesterday morning immediately after the news of his death.
Fr. Emmanuel served the Bloemfontein faithful as chanter and then as Parish Priest, at the Church of The Annunciation of The Mother of God for many years. More recently he served at the Church of The Dormition of The Mother of God in Port Elizabeth.
He was born in Plomari on 8 November 1934. The late Archbishop Pavlos Varnavas ordained him deacon on 19 October 1982. He was ordained Protopresvyter on November 1982 by the late Patriarch and Pope of Alexandria and all Africa, Petros VII.
His Eminence Archbishop Sergios would like to convey his personal condolences to the family of the late Fr. Emmanuel and the community of Bloemfontein.
Protobresvyter Fr. Nikolaos and the Parish of Saint Georges Cathedral in Cape Town extend their condolences to the family of the late Fr. Emmanuel. May his memory be eternal.
