Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God – Welkom
On Friday 20 April, His Eminence Archbishop Sergios Metropolitan of Good Hope officiated at the Service of the 4th Salutations to the Mother of God at the Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God.
The Service was very well attended and in his address after the Service, His Eminence spoke about the importance of Prayer, both during the official Services of the Church and our own private prayers.Unfortunately the Parish Priest Father Eleftherios Konakas has had to return to Greece due ill health. He officiated at the Friday Service of the 1st Salutations to the Mother of God and the Parish members were particularly pleased to be able to celebrate this important Service again on Friday evening.
His Eminence also had the opportunity to meet with the president of the Hellenic Community of Welkom, Aris Abetzoglou, committee members, past presidents and members of the community to discuss issues related to the status and future of the community.
