Clik here to view. The sacrament of the Holy Unction, or the annointing of the sick, was held at the Cathedral of Saint George in Cape Town on Wednesday, 1 May. Jesus Christ gave His Apostles the authority to heal the sick and since the time of the Apostles, the Church has used consecrated oil for annointing the sick. During Holy Week, when we are reminded of the depths of God’s love for us, we celebrate this sacrament, recognising that we are all sick and in need of the Holy Unction that is given for spiritual and physical healing, “unto souls and bodies.”
