On Wednesday 1 January 2014, after the service of the Divine Liturgy the Very Reverend Archimandrite Fr.Evlogios held the Doxology for the New Year. He also communicated the wishes and blessing from His Eminence Archbishop Sergios for the New Year
After the service, everyone congregated in the Church Hall and the Vasilopita was cut by the chairman of the Hellenic Community of the Southern Cape, Mr. Stratios Kritzas and the two God-mothers of the Church Mrs Aikaterina Apostolleli and Mrs Paraskevi Tyropolis — everyone received a piece in the New Year tradition. Thank you to Mrs Stella Chrysomallos who baked the Vasilopita and many blessings for the New Year to Mr.George Tyropolis who found the coin ”flouri” in his slice.
